Our God is a God of salvation, and to GOD, the Lord, belong deliverances from death. (Psalm 68:20)
The Bible says that all things were created by Him and through Him and for Him. God’s Word also tells us that this is not our final destination and that things are not getting better with time here on earth. To the contrary!
We have to ask, if humankind is so smart, why did people never learn to control addictions, theft, murder, rape? If human beings are so good, how come there is so much anger, bitterness, greediness, jealousy, selfishness and war in this world?
How far have we come? What has mankind really accomplished? We lay down a lousy piece of foundation on sand and build upon it. Then, we wonder, why it will fall down when the next big storm arrives. 80% out of 125 people find the advertised product amazing and we are lead to buy it. Why? Because the commercial promises that through it our lives will be so much better. True? The world tells us that, we can do what is right in our own eyes. We can exchange roles, become younger, extend life, even become pregnant beating the odds. Really?
But, guess what? As one dies, so dies the other. What can the world do about that? Ten out of ten people die — no question about it.
Have you ever asked who will stick with you when you are of old age, when your strength has left you, when cream can not wipe away your wrinkles or your age spots, when you are afraid and know your time has come?
Say, visiting a castle and choosing a tour guide, would you prefer the one that
lives for it?
How about a counselor for all the problems you are facing while raising your children, struggling with your finances, loosing your health, watching your marriage falling apart? Wouldn’t you rather go to the One who can supply all the answers — because He is Creator, Savior, Owner of everything? The One who does not just talk about love but the very One who is Love?
No matter what, one event happens to us all…
Now think of death again. Do you long to have someone to be there with you and for you – who will lead you through the unknown? Who would you want on your side in your dying hours? Listen to what Jesus Christ says…
“Fear not, I am the first and the last, and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades. (Rev. 1:17-18)
