Unexpected Answers

Did the following ever happen to you? You are unsure. You cannot decide but you would like to have it settled and dealt with. You pray over it and asked God to reveal His answer. Then the answer comes and it is neither what you’ve had in mind nor what you would have ever expected it to be.

Until last Friday I have been looking for a new Study Bible. Not that we wouldn’t have any on our shelves at home 😉 but I had one particular large print in mind which isn’t available in Europe and which would have cost a little fortune to have it shipped. Thought about getting a digital version but I’m afraid the eBook is no longer available. Then I thought about another Bible which I already have as an eBook — But, you know… Reading a printed book just has a different kind of feel’ to it, doesn’t it? 😉 The downside was that this Bible wasn’t in larger print — and that kept me from buying it. The last one I came across before Friday would have been “cheaper” and, honestly, just an “alternative” and excuse to buy at least some kind of another Bible.

I felt deeply convicted not to buy any of these and decided to stick with the one I love and have been using for years now:

the Matthew Henry Study Bible. Next to the King James Version it contains Matthew Henry’s concise commentary.

I was sure it was settled, the right decision was made and especially that there wasn’t a reason for me to buy another Bible — until last Saturday morning. But more on that in my coming post on Friday. So, please stay tuned.

Thank you for dropping in and for taking the time to read my blog!
