Trustworthy Help Meet

The books that we’ve ordered a few days ago arrived today. One is on biblical womanhood, the other is on biblical manhood. They came with study guides and I will write more about them in another post.

As for now I wanted to share a train of thoughts with you which is also in regard to womanhood — being a help meet, one a man can put his trust in.

This week we were out and about a lot. There were a lot of tractors on the road these days. While staying behind one of them hubby couldn’t really see much of the road in front of him and so he wasn’t able to pass the tractor. The road ahead of us had a sharp bend towards my side of the car and so I could clearly see what’s ahead of us. I double-checked and considered how quickly my husband would react and told him: “No cars coming if you want to pull out and pass the tractor.” And so he did.

I didn’t manipulate him and I didn’t command him to do this — passing the tractor happened because of the decision he made. This time I was in a better position, seeing clearly ahead, and I shared that with him. It’s a wonderful thought to know that he will trust me enough to follow my advice in small things and in big things.
