Put Tasks On Hold

My dad used to remind me to do task/s right away. “Deal with it and get it over with” —sometimes easier said than done! We push things that are uncomfortable aside until we (almost) get ourselves in trouble. And the longer we wait, the harder it will get to manage things.

I’m grateful for learning this, of course. On the other side, however, often enough the deal with it immediately kind of thinking has robbed me of spending special time with certain people. It has caused me to neglect the best investment made while raising a family.

Of course, tasks have to get done. Yes, our households need to run as smoothly as possible. But, see, there are times when things must wait and must make way for us to spend more precious time with our family. Often, laundry can wait, comforting a crying child cannot!

This week think of how you could spend a little extra time with your family.
