Unless the LORD had been my help,
My soul would soon have settled in silence.
If I say, “My foot slips,”
Your mercy, O LORD, will hold me up.
In the multitude of my anxieties within me,
Your comforts delight my soul.
Psalm 94:17-19
LORD Jesus, we praise You for Your great Love and Care for us. What an amazing thought it is that You, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, love and care for us. Your Word says that You will never leave nor forsake us, and that You are with us wherever we may go. No matter what it is that we are facing this day, we are not left alone, and You are with us always. We praise You and give thanks to You — our Strength and very present Help in times of trouble. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray. Amen.
The past few days were some of the hardest in my life. This rollercoaster ride of emotions was tense. Having to stay alone at home wasn’t as bad as not being able to be with the one that needed my attention the most during this time. Waving goodbye as the ambulance left, I had to let him go. Trusting that the LORD Jesus would be right there for him wasn’t easy to do.
How do you survive something like this? What can lift off this heavy burden so you can face tomorrow?
Honestly?
You can’t in your own strength. There is absolutely nothing that will help you to bring your emotions on a steady level during this troublesome time. Nothing?
“So, what will I do now?” you ask. By God’s Grace, only you can answer that.
What I can do for you now is to share some of my fears and tears. I’ll let you get on to my rollercoaster of emotions, and I’ll share with you how you can draw even closer to God during such a time as this. So stay tuned and read on for the next few days.
Don’t worry. I’m not going to leave you hanging there. What I want you to do today is read the words of Psalm 94:17-19 again and again. Memorize them if you can. Read them out loud. Listen to them over and over again. Stand on His Promises. God is faithful!

Your mercy, O LORD, will hold me up.

The LORD is your Help. He is there for you wherever you are and whatever you are facing.
