Behold, bless the LORD,
All you servants of the LORD,
Who by night stand in the house of the LORD!
Lift up your hands in the sanctuary,
And bless the LORD.
LORD Jesus, we praise You for Your great Love and Care for us. You have blessed us so richly by going to the Cross to bear our sins so that there is a way for us to go to heaven. Thank You for showering us with Your many blessings. Forgive us, we pray, that we so often forget all the benefits You are giving to us on a daily basis. Where would we be without You? You supply all our needs according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Hallelujah! Thank You, LORD. In Jesus’ precious name we pray. Amen.
Throughout the Bible we are called to “Bless the LORD.” What does that mean? We know that He blesses us through so many blessings in our lives, but how could we ever bless Him?
When God blesses us we are blessed with something He brings into our lives. When we bless God we call Him holy. In other words, we stand in awe of our Maker and Redeemer who alone is holy and worthy to be praised and worshipped.
Psalm 134 reminds me of our former pastor who used to quote this verse a lot during our prayer meetings. He usually emphasized the word “stand” 🙂 and then most of us would stand up. This is the psalm that also brings a song to my mind: “Come Bless the LORD” (Listen to a beautifully sung version of this at: https://youtu.be/G6E4CtkwzYM)
Another lovely song of a psalm, one you can sing (along) and bless the LORD with is called “All People That On Earth Do Dwell”, also known as “The Old 100th” performed by Keith Getty and the Sing Conference Choir in 2018. To see the lyrics and sing along click on “SHOW MORE” below the description of the song.
Bless the LORD! Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost today.
