The LORD reigns, He is clothed with majesty;
The LORD is clothed, He has girded Himself with strength.
Surely the world is established, so that it cannot be moved.
Your throne is established from of old; You are from everlasting.
The floods have lifted up, O LORD,
The floods have lifted up their voice;
The floods lift up their waves.
The LORD on high is mightier
Than the noise of many waters,
Than the mighty waves of the sea.
Your testimonies are very sure;
Holiness adorns Your house, O LORD, forever.
LORD Jesus we praise You for You reign. Hallelujah! You are not only strong, but You are the ultimate Strength. You are the God who is from everlasting to everlasting. No matter what kind of trouble is coming our way, no matter how much noise there is going on in this world, You are above all. Help us to see that Your testimonies are very sure and that we can trust and obey Your Word and Power. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray. Amen.
A pandemic has flooded this world. The mighty waves of it are loud and look quite scary at times. Nothing is like it used to be, and nothing seems like it is going to return back to “normal” soon. It is enough to drive us to despair. Many of us ask ourselves: Is this ever going to stop?
Then there is our own little world of sorrows and pains. In 2020 and into this year hardships appear more intense, and many of them feel like they are unbearable. How can we go on with our life while so many things are going against it?
Let’s read what C.H. Spurgeon, in “Treasury of David” comments on today’s Psalm:
Whatever opposition may arise, his throne is unmoved;
he has reigned, does reign, and will reign for ever and ever.
Whatever happens, we need to cling to God’s Promises, and we need to always remember that His Testimonies are very sure (v.5) He is mightier than any storm and He is above all. Hallelujah!
No matter what happens, remember, the LORD reigns today.
