But now indeed there are many members, yet one body.
1 Corinthians 12:20
LORD Jesus, we praise You for You spoke and everything was made perfect in its time. All things were created through You and for You, and without You nothing was made that was made. Enable us to look to You to find the complete picture. Help us to focus on Your Word which sets the frame and boundaries for our life. Guide us in helping and encouraging others to find and stay in that perfect place that You have created them for. In Jesus’ precious name we pray. Amen.
Every member has to be in place. A larger puzzle is usually made of many more pieces than a smaller sized one. No matter its size, though, each individual part of it needs to find its right place — the place it was made for. Without it the jigsaw puzzle is not complete.
Another thing to remember is that all of these pieces have to be of one and the same puzzle. It would not work to insert pieces of another jigsaw puzzle to fill the empty spaces. If one of the original pieces of the puzzle is missing or broken, the whole picture cannot be completed.
What is true for the puzzle is true also for the community. No matter how large or small the family (or any other community) is, to keep things in order, every member has to stick to the role and place in its time for which he or she has been created for.
Remember the “tricky” puzzle pieces in Wednesday’s post? They seem to fill the place but they were not made for it. Sometimes a member of a community might end up in a wrong place, too. I’m not referring to a specific family role or church or denomination here, although that could be the case.
I’m thinking more of things like God-given gifts. Sometimes a person will try to do the job which another person would be suited for in a much better way. Then it is time to set aside the one without the gift, and encourage the one who has been gifted for the job.
Which member of the Body is God calling you to encourage today?
