Peace, Be Still!

You rule the raging of the sea;
When its waves rise,
You still them.

(Psalm 89:9)

LORD Jesus we praise You for You are above all of our storms in life. You are One who rules — Hallelujah! Forgive us, O God we pray, whenever we doubt the power of Your Word. Open our eyes and help us to look beyond the raging of the sea and to the One who is able to still all of its waves. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray. Amen.

Monday, I had just finished the blog post, we decided to shut down our house hunt for the next two weeks and just concentrate on more important things. Guess what arrived by text and pictures that same day? Yes, you are right: we received another offer of a possible home. And what did we do? You are right again: We forgot all about our plans of shutting down our house hunt and immediately dive into the whole circle again…

I can hardly describe the agony and pain that followed with it, but, praising the LORD, it ended without any further hurt.

Beside being still, knowing and trusting God to provide, and moving into the home He decides that we should move into, there was another careful lesson to learn for us. What we have learned so far on our roller coaster ride of house hunting has added to our spiritual growth; but this time the lecture has been more painfully. Ouch! More about that in next week’s blog posts.

Then He arose and rebuked the wind,
and said to the sea,
“Peace, be still!”
And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.

(Mark 4:39)

When the waves are rising way above your head, know that God is able to still your storm of life today.
