The Journey and Its Destination

It is better to trust in the LORD
than to put confidence in man.
It is better to trust in the LORD
than to put confidence in princes.

Psalm 118:8-9

LORD Jesus we praise You, our Creator, our Redeemer, our Provider, and our Healer. Forgive us, O God we pray, whenever we lose sight of what is really important while we are in this world. Guide us on this journey. Keep us on the right path, and lead us safely into the Promised Land. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray. Amen.

On the first of September of this year we found out that we would have to let go of a lovely place that we had called “our home” for the last 6 1/2 years. (2021-09-01 Know that God Rules) The search to find a new home began. And what a journey it had been! There were so many ups and downs along the way: a time of great hope that we would get the right house, and then times of uncertainty, and again times of assurance that all will be well — God was in control all of the time. Hallelujah!

The House Hunt is Over Now

Two weeks ago we received the keys for our lovely maisonette; and last Monday we have locked the door of our old house for the very last time. A new chapter of life’s journey has begun — which reminds me of the name of the house we are living in now.

The name of the house is the same as that of a small Greek island also mentioned in one of Homer’s works; the owner, however, has mentioned that he has named it after a poem written by an Egyptian poet — a writer who stresses that the journey is more important than the destination.

I will write more on that — the journey, and also the destination —next week.

Stay on the narrow and good way, and keep focus on Heaven today.
