How to Celebrate Christmas in 2021

For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful,
Counselor,
Mighty God,
Everlasting Father,
Prince of Peace.

(Isaiah 9:6)

LORD Jesus we praise You, our Creator and mighty God, our Saviour and Counselor — the Word that has been sent by God to rescue us, to heal us, and to deliver us from our destructions. Hallelujah! Forgive us, O God we pray, whenever we put ourselves or any other before You. Help us to know, and to consider in our heart, that You alone are LORD and God in heaven above and on the earth beneath and that there is no other. Prepare our hearts for this season and enable us to celebrate You this Christmas of 2021. In Jesus’ most wonderful and powerful name we pray. Amen.

What do you like most about Christmas? The beautifully decorated home, the colors that remind you of this season, or perhaps the fancy lights on the Christmas tree? Or could it be the smell of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, oranges, and any other Christmas spices and foods? Maybe for you it is just the fact that you get to celebrate this time of the year with friends, family, and loved ones?

Say: What IS the best thing about Christmas?

Quite a lot of people will say that pre-Christmas is a great time of stress — all the shopping for and wrapping of the many presents. They are worried to be able to buy what they had in mind for each person. Many items are out of stock and the price products has risen tremendously. Who can afford Christmas this year?

Say: What IS the perfect gift this Christmas?

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above,
and comes down from the Father of lights,
with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

(James 1:17)

Let’s lay aside all this worldly fuss about the season, and let us not focus on presents and lights which are only temporary. Instead, let us focus on the good and perfect gift from above who has come down from the Father of lights.

On this coming Friday, the 24th of December 2021, and Christmas Eve, let’s remember the Birth of Christ the Messiah, our LORD Jesus, the true LIGHT that has come into the world. Let us prepare our hearts and welcome Him into our homes.

For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

(Luke 2:11)

Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength today.
