Teach the Younger Women

The aged women likewise,
that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness,
not false accusers,
not given to much wine,
teachers of good things;

That they may teach the young women to be sober,
to love their husbands,
to love their children,

To be discreet,
chaste,
keepers at home,
good,
obedient to their own husbands,
that the word of God be not blasphemed.

Titus 2:3-5

The verses instruct the older women how to behave and how not to behave, that they ought to be teachers of good things, and what they should teach the young women.

Before we as older women can teach the younger, however, we ourselves must know what we are talking about when we are teaching. Therefore we need to diligently read and study God’s Word in order to build on a solid, unshakeable foundation. Then we have to put in practice what the LORD has taught us through His Word, and what He requires of us.

Seek the whole counsel of God, and know that the Word of God is still relevant today. All of it is! It is the manual for everyday living, and we should take it to heart. God knows best, and His advice works. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Women need to “Walk the walk” so that the Word of God is not blasphemed. (Titus 2:5)

When Gentiles, also known as unbelievers, are watching us what will they see? Are we only talking the talk? Will they doubt God is for real when they are watching how we are living? Does our walk agree with our talk? Do we teach others but refuse to teach ourselves? Are we growing and showing that Jesus is LORD over all of our life?

How will the girls and young women know if they are going in the right direction? Our daughters do need guidance in making their decisions. If we do not offer our counsel to them they will seek help somewhere else. The world will more than miss the mark in teaching our young women true love, hope, and faith. A worldly society pushes our daughters on to an ungodly path. It will bail out, however, when things get tough and/or advice them to take extreme actions.

Psalm 145:4 says that one generation shall praise to the next what God has done. We shall share with others how God works in our lives.

Let’s get busy to study, teach, and work at home.
