LORD Jesus we praise You for You have not left us without a Guidance for our life. Forgive us, O God we pray, whenever we neglect to acknowledge You in all of our ways. Help us to seek You, to read Your Word, and to follow instructions. In Jesus’ wonderful name we pray. Amen.
My beloved sister in Christ and her husband came over for a visit the other evening. Sylvia and I had a great time chopping veggies and putting them in her soup maker that she had brought along. She did a lovely presentation of how to use the appliance and it was a true blessing to cook, chat, and enjoy a cup of coffee together.
So this passed weekend hubby and I checked out some devices at the store, did a little research online, and then we’ve got ourselves a new gadget for the kitchen. It’s a blender and a soup maker in one, and it also has many other functions. It will run on automatic settings as well as a selection of manual ones. Yes, I love it and it really eases the workload to prepare and cook a good homemade vegetable soup.
Yes, my new gadget came with a thin printed manual, and I downloaded a digital version also. I’m, however, far from knowing everything that I could possibly cook using this appliance. Therefore I will need to spend more and more time using the machine while studying the manual as well as the recipe booklet that came along with it.
What’s true about manuals for electrical appliances is also true about God’s Word for our life. We need to pick up our Bible, listen to how God is speaking to us through His Word, and then be wise to not only hear the instruction well but also to do what He says that we should do.
