The words of the LORD are pure words,
Like silver tried in a furnace of earth,
Purified seven times.
You shall keep them, O LORD,
You shall preserve them from this generation forever.
Psalm 12:6-7
LORD Jesus, we praise You for You, O God, are the Word that became flesh and dwelt among His people. You died for our sins, You rose again, and You went back to the Father in Heaven. But You, O God, did not leave us or forsake us nor did You let us be without any comfort. You went back to Heaven, yes, but You sent us the Comforter, the Holy Spirit—so we are not without God, but God still dwells among His people. Hallelujah! Help us to cling to You, to hear Your Word, and to trust that You are above all situations and on the Throne. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray. Amen.
God’s words are pure and trustworthy. What He said that He would do, will surely happen. He is able to perform what He has promised (Romans 4:21). We can trust God’s words because He does keep His words (Psalm 12:7).
God said, Let there be…—and it was so (Genesis 1). God told Noah to build an Ark because He would send the waters to cover the whole earth—and it was so (Genesis 6-8). God told Abraham that he and Sarah would have a son no matter their high age—and it was so (Genesis 17:1-17 & 21:1-7). For many, many years, God told His people that the Messiah would save His people—and it was so (Old Testament of the Bible & New Testament of the Bible). We can trust God’s Word because He keeps His Word.
God’s Word, the Logos, Christ the LORD, must be the foundation for our life. He is the Cornerstone, the One who is able to hold the whole Building, the Body of Christ, together. We cannot live without Him, but we have to abide in Him and His words in us, and we will be His disciples. (John 15:7-8)
There is so much more on my mind today, while writing this blog post, but for time’s and the grasping of the message’ sake I will have to write tight. You will, however, read more about the Word of God throughout 2023, so please stay tuned.
Take time to read God’s Word and abide in His words today.
