“Let not your heart be troubled;
you believe in God,
believe also in Me.In My Father’s house are many mansions;
if it were not so,
I would have told you.
I go to prepare a place for you.And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come again and receive you to Myself;
that where I am, there you may be also.And where I go you know, and the way you know.”
John 14:1-4
LORD Jesus we praise You for You are the Author of our faith. Forgive us, O God we pray, whenever we neglect to search the Scriptures. Open our eyes and our ears and give us hearts of flesh so that we may seek and find and hear You. Help us to do what You have told us to do in Your Word. Guide us on the path that leads us in the way we should go—all the way until we have arrived in the Father’s House at our mansion. In Jesus’ precious name we pray. Amen.
What is a mansion?
What do you think of when you hear or read the word “mansion?” A big house? A fancy one? Perhaps a place that has all the expensive add-ons like a foyer, a swimming-pool, a gym-hall, or even a huge room with an enormous projection screen and a couple of loudspeakers inside, and that is called “The Cinema” of the house?
Noah Webster’s 1828 dictionary defines the word like that:
Any place of residence; a house; a habitation.
Nelson’s New Illustrated explains that the word refers to a dwelling place.
No matter what we are thinking of what a mansion looks like on earth or in heaven, the important fact is that we are in need of Christ the LORD—inside our dwelling places here on earth and inside the mansion in our Father’s House in heaven.
We will discover a little bit more about our homes on earth and our mansions in heaven in next week’s blogs. So, please stay tuned and I will see you again on Tuesday and Thursday, LORD willing.
Believe in God, and believe also in Christ the LORD today.
