Honesty Will Last

I hate and abhor lying,
But I love Your law.

Psalm 119:163

LORD Jesus we praise You for You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life. We thank You that we can come to the Father because of what You have done for us. Forgive us, O God we pray, whenever, instead of being still and waiting on the LORD, we are bending over backwards trying to fix things in our own way. Help us, precious LORD, and guide us in your Word. Enable us to seek the Truth, know the Truth, and, most of all apply the Truth in this world and in our daily life today. In Jesus’ precious name we pray. Amen.

How far are you willing to go to get what you want for you life? Will you lie to reach your goal/s? Apply for a loan that you never intend to pay back? Commit to something you cannot keep? Trick others so you will get your own will?

We are still in a desperate situation at the moment, and this morning the “bubble of hope” bursted. We did not receive a “no” but a very limited “yes” and so there is no way for us to change our current situation—no way unless the LORD will.

We could cheat on this and that, come up with wrong numbers and promises, and go on a path that so many are trodding on theses days. We decided not to, no matter what it will cost us.

That’s stupid! Is it really? We do not think so.

In German we have the saying,

Ehrlich währt am längsten (Honesty will last)

and, for us, it has always proven to be the best way to go.

We are to be “Ambassadors for Christ.” Our family members, friends neighbors, and many of the people we see and talk to on a daily basis, do watch us. What will they see? What will they hear? Do we shine as lights in this dark world, or do we go along with what the world suggests that we should be doing—concerning our marriage, family planning, the education of our children, handling our finances, etc.?

Speak the Truth, and declare righteousness today.
