Concerning this thing
I pleaded with the Lord three times
that it might depart from me.And He said to me,
“My grace is sufficient for you,
for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities,
that the power of Christ may rest upon me.Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities,
in reproaches,
in needs,
in persecutions,
in distresses,
for Christ’s sake.For when I am weak,
then I am strong.
2 Corinthians 12:8-10
LORD Jesus, we praise You, for Your Spirit, the Comforter, is with us wherever we are. Forgive us, O God we pray, should we seek to go our way. Help us to focus on Your promises. Whenever advice is against Your Word, protect our hearts, so that we will not follow that advice. Instead, guide us, so we will hear Your voice and not our own, nor the voice of others. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray. Amen.
In this blog post, I want to include a big “Thank you!” to all my readers who keep sending me words of encouragement. Beloved, these notes keep me writing—in such a time as this.
What is your weakness? Which areas of your life lack perfection? How are the members of your body? Do you suffer because of an illness or disability?
Have you ever wondered what thing Paul pleaded with the Lord about? No matter what, he must have been annoyed, for he pleaded again and again and again that this thing might depart from him.
And what did the LORD tell him?
“My grace is sufficient for you,
for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”
And how did Paul react to God’s promise?
Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities,
that the power of Christ may rest upon me.Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities,
in reproaches,
in needs,
in persecutions,
in distresses,
for Christ’s sake.For when I am weak,
then I am strong.
Wow! Can you imagine, you ask God to heal you, and God answers you in the same wording? How would you react?
Oops.
Don’t misunderstand, please. I’m not saying that we should just accept and live with our infirmities. We need to pray and ask God to change our situation. God’s mighty works, miracles, never stopped working. I believe God has the power and the willingness to heal us—yes, even today.
Psalm 103:3 says that God heals all our diseases. Many of us received healing, some of us will receive healing today, and others will have to wait for healing to happen in the future.
Listen, all our diseases will be healed eventually. God says so, and He does not lie.
God will wipe away every tear from our eyes;
there will be no more death,
nor sorrow,
nor crying.
There will be no more pain,
for the former things have passed away.
God will make all things new.
(see Revelation 21:4-5)
Believe that God’s strength is made perfect in weakness today.
