The Perfect Place

For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face.
Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

(1 Corinthians 13:12)

LORD Jesus, we praise You, for You alone have made it possible for us that we can some day arrive at that perfect place called heaven. Forgive us, O God, we pray, whenever we focus on earthly things instead of heavenly things. Help us to seek Your will for our lives. Guide us on the everlasting path that will lead us to the perfect place where we will see You face to face. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray. Amen.

The Place You Were In

At first, you were so happy, yes, because it looked like you had found that perfect spot on earth. Then somebody came along, looked at you, got a hold of you, and decided that it was time for you to move on. Now what?

Life went well until a hardship entered your life. It felt like something huge stepped on you and forced you into the sinking sand. The burden eased for a few moments, but then you found yourself in the claws of something. Now what?

Trying Hard to Find a New Place

Your beauty has faded, and your enthusiasm has grown dim. You feel like a lifeless stone and so out of place. You know that life has to move on, and you are trying hard to find a new place. Where could it be? How can you find it?

The Perfect Place

There is no such thing as a perfect place on earth. No, perfection only exists in heaven—in heavenly places.

In last week’s blog post I wrote that…

Rejoicing in the LORD, even in the midst of troubled times, is done by our “will,” not by our feelings.

Whenever we find ourselves in a desperate situation,
when we have come to the end of our rope,
when all of our patience fails and our strength is gone,
when it seems there is no hope,
that’s when we need to rejoice in the LORD even more.

No matter where you are in life, sing praises to the LORD.

Beloved, hardships cannot be overcome by feelings! This is a time to willfully start singing praises to the LORD. It is time to trust in Him and not lean on our own understanding.

We may not have come to the Perfect Place yet.

For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face.
Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

(1 Corinthians 13:12)

Trust in God and keep your focus on the Perfect Place today.
