To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven:
A time to be born, And a time to die;
A time to plant, And a time to pluck what is planted;
A time to kill, And a time to heal;
A time to break down, And a time to build up;
A time to weep, And a time to laugh;
A time to mourn, And a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, And a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to gain, And a time to lose;
A time to keep, And a time to throw away;
A time to tear, And a time to sew;
A time to keep silence, And a time to speak;
A time to love, And a time to hate;
A time of war, And a time of peace.
(Ecclesiastes 3:1-8)
LORD Jesus, we praise You, for You are the Creator and Master of everything. Forgive us, O God, we pray, whenever we are impatient and trying to fix things the way and in the order we want them to happen. Remind us that there is an appointed time for everything that happens under the sun and that You remain in control no matter what. Help us to seek, to discover, and to long for Your will and purpose for our lives. Be the Strength and Peace that we need in times of trouble, and guide us on the everlasting Way that leads to a life spent with You in all eternity. In Jesus’ precious name we pray. Amen.
You are eagerly awaiting an urgent message to come in or for something else to arrive at your doorstep. What do you do? Will you keep checking your email every minute? How about making sure the phone is not on silent so you will not miss the call that is of such importance to you? If it is a parcel that you are expecting, are you constantly looking out the window so you will not miss the delivery of today’s post?
People all over the world are expecting, awaiting, and crying out for help these days. What is it that you are longing for today?
“If only God would…” (fill in the blank)
What if God does not move or does not move yet?
Crying out to God again and again, asking Him why this is happening the way it is, and why He is not moving, He put this on my heart:
“Not yet, my child. Not yet.”
How would you respond? Would you tell Him that you want this now? Or would you remind yourself that there is an appointed time for everything under the sun?
Your plan might agree with God’s purpose, but the season may not.
Wait for the appointed time today.
