Time Management – By What Standard?

See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise,

redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

(Ephesians 5:15-17)

LORD Jesus, we praise You, for our times are in Your hands. Forgive us, O God, we pray, whenever we are spending time and more time doing things that are not our business. Help us to see if we are busybodies in any way, and enable us to change these wrong habits. Give us wisdom to discover time wasters, then help us to put them aside. Let us never forget to first focus on things above and not on things that are on the earth. Guide us in our way of life, so we will be wise in how we are handling our time, our finances, and all of our other resources which You have so richly provided for us. In Jesus’ precious name, we pray. Amen.

Who or What Comes First in Your Life?

We need to know the order of our priorities, so we can see with whom or what we are spending our time with. Who or what have we set at the top of our priority list? Is it a person? Who? Or, is it a specific task, something we do out of routine every morning, a single course of our education, our work at home, or a good deed we long to do every day (week, month)?

Who or What Wants Your Time?

We also need to know who or what demands our attention. Is it someone or something that is on our priority list and that we should spend time with? Will we give in whenever people or things come our way and urge us to take the time for them?

In last week’s post, I said that

If something is important enough, you will make time for it. You will take the time to meet with that special person and/or invest other resources to accomplish things.

Who or What Is Important in Your Life?

How do you decide what is important and what is not? By what standard do you know what to commit to and what to let go? Know the Bible says about who or what should be important in your life and who or what should be second or even neglected in your life.

True, this is no small task. Let’s find out continuously by reading and studying God’s Word together.

Be wise, seek and understand the will of the LORD today.
